S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is an example of one of the most iconic franchises in this setting. The history of the series began in 2007 with the first installment: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chornobyl. The narrative revolves around an alternative reality where a second explosion occurred in 2006, It was caused by the suspicious activity of a few classified laboratories. This disaster led to different phenomena in the Zone, as well as mutations and numerous anomalies. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl introduces a non-linear story set in a seamless, open world. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is truly an immersive experience thanks to advanced AI and a life-simulating "A-life 2.0" system. Thanks to this solution, NPCs and enemies will make decisions no matter whether they are seen by the player or not. The developers ensured that the player will feel immersed thanks to a day-night cycle and a detailed environment. Realistic weather conditions and strange anomalies make the zone a hazardous, yet awe-inspiring, place to explore.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a long-awaited FPS. The player will once again visit the Zone that is overridden with mutants and factions entangled in a conflict. The game will first debut in 2023 on Xbox systems and Windows, with its PS5 premiere coming later.
